Upon completion of the Education Specialist Instruction Credential, Preliminary, teachers must:
- Begin the Level II program no later than 120 days following initial employment on their Preliminary Credential.
- Be employed as a full-time teacher for two years after receipt of their Preliminary Credential.
- Complete the Level II Credential within five years of completing the Preliminary Credential.
Brandman’s Level II mild/moderate program is a five-course sequence, consisting of portfolio and professional development, as well as advanced special education methods.
Holders of the Preliminary Education Specialist credential have the option of completing a Commission-approved program to obtain the Level II credential or may transition to a Commission-approved Induction program in special education to obtain the Clear Education Specialist Instruction credential.
