MA Teaching: Secondary Education

As a student of the Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Education program, you will become competent and qualified to teach a single subject at the secondary school level, but will also come to appreciate and understand the highly influential role of a teacher in the lives of students.

The secondary education program includes the required coursework for a 2042 Single Subject credential, preparing you to teach in a specific content area (K-12).

Who is this program for?

This program is ideal for students who wish to begin their teaching career in a California departmentalized classroom – teaching a single subject like math or English - with both a teaching credential and a master’s degree. This is the program typically sought by those who wish to teach at the middle school or high school level.
