Curriculum Description

Graduation Requirements (2012-13 catalog)
  • A minimum of 120 credits.
  • 36 credits earned in upper-division coursework.
  • Minimum of 32 credits completed in residence at Brandman; 18 of which must be upper-division credits, 12 of which must be completed in students major.
  • A 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale at Brandman and transfer work.
  • A 2.0 grade point average in all major and minor coursework. Programs may have additional grade requirements.
  • Resolution of all “CI” and “I” grades.
  • LBSU 300 Liberal Arts Core Foundations- (Cannot be used as an elective in a major, minor, or certificate program)
  • LBSU 302 Information Fluency and Academic Integrity (Cannot be used as an elective in a major, minor, or certificate program)

Description

The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Studies program prepares you to build upon your occupational or educational background to advance your career and educational goals. With courses in liberal studies, organizational leadership, computer information systems and sociology, the program offers a generalist’s view of multiple specialties. Elective courses allow you to create a personalized degree while a unique capstone program provides an opportunity to showcase your professional expertise and proficiency.

Who is this program for?

Designed as a degree-completion program, the BA in Applied Studies is for students with an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree – where the student has received specialized training at the community college level and is looking to complete a broad overview of cross-disciplinary coursework.

What can you do with a degree in applied studies?

A degree in applied studies prepares graduates for careers or promotions in varying administrative, leadership and supervisory roles.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the program may be achieved by completing the following requirements:
Have at least 12 transferrable baccalaureate-level credits (or the equivalent) from an accredited college or university.
Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA in all prior college-level coursework.
How to Apply
Complete and submit an Application for Undergraduate Admission.
Provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Only credit from regionally accredited institutions will be accepted for transfers. International applicants or domestic applicants with transcripts from international institutions must also submit foreign transcripts. PLEASE DO NOT FAX TRANSCRIPTS OR TEST SCORES.
