Graduation Requirements (2012-2013 Catalog)
  • A minimum of 120 credits.
  • 36 credits earned in upper-division coursework.
  • Minimum of 32 credits completed in residence at Brandman; 18 of which must be upper -division credits, 12 of which must be completed in students major.
  • A 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale at Brandman and transfer work.
  • A 2.0 grade point average in all major and minor coursework. Programs may have additional grade requirements.
  • Resolution of all "Cl" and "l" grades.
  • LBSU 300 Liberal Arts Core Foundations- (Cannot be used as an elective in a major, minor, or certificate program)
  • LBSU 302 Information Fluency and Academic Integrity (Cannot be used as an elective in a major, minor, or certificate program)

Description

Scholarship opportunities are available for this program. Brandman University is offering a $250 per unit scholarship for upper division coursework. The scholarship applies to entry points of August 27, 2012 and January 7, 2013.

Based on the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Professional Preparation Standards for Initial Licensure, this program focuses on building the knowledge, skills and dispositions that early childhood educators need to provide high quality, inclusive early care and education for children ages birth to eight in a variety of settings. The program is designed to complement previous early childhood educational training and fieldwork (typically received in community colleges) and provide students with the depth of study required for entry into graduate studies in early childhood.

Throughout the program, students apply their learning through fieldwork experiences in at least one of the following age groups: birth to three, three to five, and five to eight. Fieldwork must be completed in at least one of the following settings: primary or elementary school, childcare center or home, and Head Start.

Please note that this program is only available to California residents.

Admission Requirements

​Admission to the program may be achieved by completing the following requirements:
Have at least 12 transferrable baccalaureate-level credits (or the equivalent) from an accredited college or university.
Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA in all prior college-level coursework.
How to Apply
Complete and submit an Application for Undergraduate Admission.
Provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Only credit from regionally accredited institutions will be accepted for transfers. International applicants or domestic applicants with transcripts from international institutions must also submit foreign transcripts. PLEASE DO NOT FAX TRANSCRIPTS OR TEST SCORES.
