Description

You have the experience, now you can earn the Doctorate degree! This fall, Brandman University’s Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership’s inaugural class commenced in Irvine, CA.

With cohorts meeting throughout the state of California, this groundbreaking program offers flexibility and local support systems, serving the needs of working professionals! The Ed.D. program’s hybrid format of online instruction and face-to-face support is created to support your pathway to success.

Advantages of this program include:

  • Dynamic faculty of experienced practitioners
  • Collaboration Balanced With Independent Learning
  • Diverse Instructional Strategies
  • Newest Technologies And Multimedia Tools
  • Practical application of best practices in the field
  • Completion of coursework in two years and completing the dissertation in the next year or so.
Cohorts

Individual online work and study will be augmented with extended activities in monthly half-day cohort meetings, in which students work together to develop their leadership competencies. Students will be assigned to a local cohort with others in their geographical area. A leading practitioner will serve as a cohort mentor, working with you continuously for the two years of coursework.

Immersions

Six times during two years of coursework all Ed.D. students will meet near the Irvine campus for extensive relationship-building with faculty and students program-wide, presentations by expert speakers, dissertation seminars, and in-depth engagement in learning.

Transformational Change Project

To integrate change theory into real world settings and provide an opportunity for clinical practice, each student will design, implement, and assess a Transformational Change Project (TCP), which will be operationalized in a real organization.

Dissertation: Two Approaches

Students have the option of working individually in the traditional dissertation approach or engaging in a a supportive collaboration of faculty and several other dissertation students in a thematic dissertation.. Each student in the thematic group develops a research plan around a current interest that they share. Each student researches the problem from a different perspective. All members of the group share literature sources, provide feedback on research design and drafts, and help each other remain focused and moving forward. One faculty member serves as the chair for all students working in the small collaborative group. Whether pursuing the traditional dissertation approach or the thematic dissertation, each student writes their own dissertation.
