Description

This online program authorizes you to provide specialized instruction to English learners in a California classroom. You'll learn to design curriculum to assist students with developing their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.

Courses address the belief that teaching English learners requires an understanding of first and second language acquisition theories; how culture impacts learning; appropriate bilingual methodology; and the need to use appropriate content area instruction through Specially-Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE).

This program is approved by California's Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and meets the standards of the California Teacher of English Learners.

These credit-bearing courses are delivered through Extended Education and may begin prior to being admitted to Brandman University. Register Now for Courses.
