Dr. Debaleena Majumdar is an Assistant Professor of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Majumdar's interests lie in areas of GIS and remote sensing, energy planning, renewable energy, spatial planning, spatial data analysis, land use and land cover analysis, environmental planning and sustainable urban planning. She has published her work in leading academic journals like Landscape and Urban Planning and Renewable Energy. Dr. Majumdar has designed and taught several graduate and undergraduate courses at Arizona State University (ASU) and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) on GIS, Remote Sensing, Urban Planning and Geography. Over the years she has participated in projects from Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Environmental Conservation (New York), Ministry of Urban Development (New Delhi, India) etc.
