At Brandman University we demonstrate our concern for the welfare of our communities through participation in programs that address children's interests, the environment, education, health, literacy, language and culture. We believe that direct action and collaboration establishes our university as an engaged partner with our local communities. As we continue to grow our community relations efforts, we will share our goals we hope will provide meaningful, sustainable solutions to societal issues.
TOYS FOR TOTS
With the enthusiastic support of Chancellor Brahm, we have set a goal to donate 1,000 new, unwrapped gifts to Toys for Tots by December 16. All staff, faculty and students from all 25 campuses are invited to participate. Toys for Tots bins will be at every Brandman University by the first week of November. Although Toys for Tots is a national program, it operates on a community basis: toys that are collected in a particular area will be distributed to less fortunate children in that same community. The organization particularly needs gifts for boys or girls ages newborn to 3 years and/or teens. With your support we can reach and beat our goal and bring joy and fun to the lives of many, many children! |

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
On October 7, the administrative staff at Brandman Irvine campus participated in Lee National Denim Day®, one of the largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer. We simply donated a minimum of $5 per person to wear our favorite jeans to work. The University matched the $5 donation for a total donation of $1320.00 to support the Women's Cancer Programs. With one in eight women in the U.S. diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime (that's one every three minutes) we sought to change that number and hopefully save lives.
