In what began as an effort to meet the education needs of military personnel, Chapman University established the Residence Education Center Program, which was later named Chapman University College, at the nearby Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in 1958. Thanks to a generous donation by The Brandman Foundation, we’ve become Brandman University, a separate, fully accredited university within the Chapman University System. Steeped in academic tradition, our program continues to provide quality education to a new kind of student: one who demands the same high academic standards as a traditional university but whose life requires greater flexibility and real-world relevance in the curriculum.
Brandman University has expanded to offer online programs as well as a convenient network of 26 campuses throughout California and Washington. We offer 52 undergraduate, graduate, credential, and certificate programs in Business, Arts and Sciences, Health, Education and professional development. Brandman is a member of CAEL, the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning, and is one of the largest credentialers in California.
