U.S. Veterans Magazine has named Brandman University to its list of Top Veteran-Friendly Schools for 2014. The magazine polled hundreds of colleges and universities for this year’s “Best of the Best” evaluations and Brandman University was one of 145 schools to make the list.
Brandman University has received a generous grant of $99,600 from the Ahmanson Foundation to support the University’s Office of Disability Services-Accessible Education. The grant money will fund the purchase of adaptive technology which includes; note-taking devices, assistive listening devices, closed captioning facilitation, speech to text software, and Braille equipment. “We thank the Ahmanson Foundation for their gracious gift,” said Gary Brahm, chancellor of Brandman University.
Keith Debro, an adjunct faculty member at Brandman University, was honored in a pre-game ceremony before the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis. Debro was representing the Oakland Athletics after fans elected him through the Target/People All-Star Teacher Program.
“My wife nominated me after seeing an ad in People Magazine looking for dedicated teachers who also have a love for baseball,” said Debro.
Brandman University’s Ontario and Riverside campuses have teamed up to host a free summer career fair on Thursday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3990 Concours Street in Ontario. Employers with immediate openings will be on hand to review resumes and conduct on-site interviews.
