Curriculum Details

Specific Requirements (2011-12 catalog)

Prerequisites:

Candidates must have held or currently hold a valid teaching credential or take EDUU 515 - Teaching the Adult Learner. Candidates must also take EDUU 551 or an approved equivalent, or submit passing scores on the CSET in Ed Tech, or a teaching credential that required a Level I educational computer course.

Core courses (18 credits):

EDUU 600* Research and Evaluation Methods
EDUU 605 Democracy, Education and Social Change
EDUU 606 Seminar in Learning Theory
EDUU 607 Seminar in Comparative Education
EDUU 608 Seminar in Social Foundations of Education 
EDUU 609 Seminar in Curriculum Studies   
 

*EDUU 600 is a prerequisite for all other core courses and candidates are advised to follow this structure.

Emphasis Required Courses (12 credits)

 

EDUU 552 Using Technological Tools in Teaching, Level Two
EDUU 563 Curriculum, Leadership, and Instruction Technology
EDUU 564 Social Implications of Educational Technology
EDUU 566 Instructional Design Capstone Project
 

Demonstration of Mastery
Candidates for the Master of Arts in Education degree with an emphasis in Instructional Technology must successfully complete and present an Instructional Design Project in EDUU 566 and earn a B or better in the course.
