BA, Social Science

Designed for the student who desires a broader background than is provided by an individual disciplinary major, the Bachelor of Arts in Social Science program unites the diverse areas of social, political, cultural, economic, organizational and technological processes. This integrated approach helps you develop critical reasoning and analytic skills, comparative perspectives and world views. You'll be exposed to all the disciplines in the social sciences – along with their differing subject matters and methodologies - plus three specialized areas of your choosing.

Who is this program for?

This major provides the foundation for students seeking a career in teaching, research or journalism, or for those considering a graduate degree in library science, law or international relations.

What can you do with a degree in social science?

Students with degrees in social science have gone on to become anthropologists, archaeologists, geographers, historians, political scientists, teachers and sociologists. Additionally, students are prepared for work in research, consulting and for graduate study.
