Honors Cords

In order to receive Latin Honors, undergraduate students must meet the following criteria at the time of degree conferral:

Minimum Chapman University GPA of 3.50, Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.50+, Minimum completion of 54 Chapman University graded credits (not including Pass/No Pass)

Magna Cum Laude

Students who have not completed their program requirements, but would like to wear an honors cord at commencement in May 2012 must have a combined University and cumulative GPA of 3.50 , including all transfer work, based on grades earned by the end of Fall Session 2. In addition, they must have a minimum of 42 credits of Chapman/Brandman University coursework, taken for a letter grade.

Being eligible to wear honors cords at commencement does not guarantee that the student will earn Latin honors, which are determined at the time of degree conferral.

The Honors Cord will be available to purchase through Chapman University's Agora Gift Shop by calling 714-997-6718. They will verify that your name is on the "Candidate for Latin Honors at Commencement List." Honor cords are worn during Commencement around the shoulders with the tassels hanging down the front of the gown.

Graduate students do not wear honors cords.
