Independent Study

Independent Study courses are self-paced, project-based courses designed to enhance curriculum development and encourage individual growth. They provide a framework for exploring a topic or strategy, but allow teachers to choose their own foci and readings (from a recommended list). Course topics range from teaching methodologies and ecoliteracy to Common Core and classroom management, with an option to design your own course if you don’t see your topic of passion represented (Special Project for Individualized Learning).

Spanish for Early Childhood Educators

Did you know that, as of 2009, 26% of all children under 5 years old in the US are Hispanic?

This undergraduate-level course is designed to provide early childhood educators with basic knowledge about Latino culture and Spanish language necessary to communicate with parents and students on a basic level. Students will explore the culture of the monolingual population. They will also learn and practice vocabulary and phrases necessary to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and parents.

Teaching the 21st Century Learner Certificate

The Teaching the 21st Century Learner Certificate is designed for current educators who want to gain the knowledge and skill needed to serve as effective instructors for K-20 environments, in both online and blended settings. This four-course, fully online program focuses on students meeting and actively employing the iNACOL National Standards for Quality Online Teaching. Students will:

BCBA

The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® has approved the following course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination®. Applicants will have to meet additional requirements to qualify. This five-course sequence covers the Fourth Edition and is offered by the College of Applied Human Services, a partner of Brandman University. This is not professional certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and does not entitle candidates to claim they are Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA's).

BER Instructor-Led Online Courses

Brandman University awards 1 or 2 semester hours of graduate level professional development credit based upon successful completion of course requirements. These credits are not part of a degree program but instead are primarily used for professional advancement such as salary increment steps and recertification.

SDE Online Courses

Brandman University awards 1 or 2 semester hours of graduate level professional development credit based upon successful completion of course requirements. These credits are not part of a degree program but instead are primarily used for professional advancement such as salary increment steps and recertification.

Rachel's Challenge Annual Summit

Earn Professional Development Credit for Attending the Rachel's Challenge Summit

The purpose of this course is to allow educators to earn graduate level professional development credits. Brandman University will award 1, 2, or 3 semester units of credit based upon satisfactory completion of course and summit session requirements. Allow a minimum of 15 hours work per credit. Work will be submitted on our online platform.
