Pre K-12 Education

Spanish for Early Childhood Educators

Did you know that, as of 2009, 26% of all children under 5 years old in the US are Hispanic?

This undergraduate-level course is designed to provide early childhood educators with basic knowledge about Latino culture and Spanish language necessary to communicate with parents and students on a basic level. Students will explore the culture of the monolingual population. They will also learn and practice vocabulary and phrases necessary to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and parents.

Teaching the 21st Century Learner Certificate

The Teaching the 21st Century Learner Certificate is designed for current educators who want to gain the knowledge and skill needed to serve as effective instructors for K-20 environments, in both online and blended settings. This four-course, fully online program focuses on students meeting and actively employing the iNACOL National Standards for Quality Online Teaching. BCBA

The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® has approved the following course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination®. Applicants will have to meet additional requirements to qualify. This five-course sequence covers the Fourth Edition and is offered by the College of Applied Human Services, a partner of Brandman University. Clear Administrative Services Credential

The Clear Administrative Services Credential (formerly Tier II) program is designed to develop the professional competencies of practicing educational leaders. Students work with their Brandman University faculty mentor and a self-selected district support provider to develop the skills necessary to:

CTEL/CLAD

This online program authorizes you to provide specialized instruction to English learners in a California classroom. You'll learn to design curriculum to assist students with developing their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.

Autism, Added Authorization

Did you know that autism has grown 600% since 1991? We at Brandman University know that California’s teachers weren’t trained to manage the epidemic. We have sought to meet that need by launching one of California’s first state-approved Autism Authorization programs.

Our 4 course, 12 unit program provides either a CTC-designated authorization to serve learners with Autism Spectrum Disorders or a Certificate of Completion. Since Brandman classes are after hours and online, teachers can learn new skills and stay where they're needed: in the classroom.

BTSA

Brandman University works with numerous Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) programs throughout California to provide graduate credit for beginning teachers and support providers.

Directed Study

Between class, lesson planning, and administrative commitments, it can be difficult for educators to find time for their own education and professional development. With Brandman University’s self-paced, online Directed Study courses, educators can find a course that fits not only their unique areas of interest but their busy lives and schedules.

Learning Circles

Learning Circles is designed for groups of three or more individuals who would like to get together to discuss a quality book, with the purpose of improving professional practice. The courses are based on a book chosen by participants using the guidelines and rubric provided in the syllabus. This program is ideal for after-school planning, grade-level meetings, book clubs, or other venues that encourage meaningful professional discussions.
