IS THERE PROOF THAT BRANDMAN STUDENTS DO BETTER?

If you look at key measurements—completion rates, student loan default rates and transfer-to-graduation rates—Brandman students clearly do better:

Completion rates

Our 68% “completion rate” reflects an overall average from four years of cohorts (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) and the percentage of undergraduate students who completed an undergraduate degree program within six years of their first enrollment.  A student is included in an undergraduate cohort when they enter for the first time at Brandman University, regardless of prior academic credit or class standing upon entry (e.g., freshman, sophomore, junior, senior).

Brandman: 68%
Largest Online University and Largest Private University; University of Phoenix*: 31%

*The University of Phoenix produces an annual academic report which calculates its completion rate similar to Brandman University.  View more information about University of Phoenix’s calculation here.

Transfer-to-graduation rates are based on a four-year average of undergraduate cohorts (in years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) with sophomore and above class standing (30 or more combined credit hours) upon entry, tracked for undergraduate degree completion within six years of their first enrollment at Brandman University.

The California State University system and the Consortia for Student Retention Data Exchange also track transfer-to-graduation rates using similar methodology.  View more information about transfer-to-graduation rates here.
