Registration Procedures
During 2011, there will be a change in registration procedures, in the selection of credit cards we can accept and in the way credit cards can be used. You will soon be able to register through a completely automated process. You will complete a Permit to Register Form on-line which will generate a student number and login account for you. You will then access our WebAdvisor to select your class. Credit card payments will soon be made through a telephonic processing service, but we will still accept checks and company purchase orders.
Please visit this website for enrollment instructions: www.brandman.edu/exed/
Follow the links to Registration Instructions. They will be updated whenever there is new information to be shared. The term and course numbers are listed under the Course Schedule column in this brochure or on the program web page. Please refer to this when registering with either the current PDF enrollment form or the new WebAdvisor method.
Materials information
Our national business certification programs are based on curriculum provided by the professional organizations that define the body-of-knowledge for the industry. Materials used in our classes have been created by them and we provide to you, the student, as a required part of the class. They are the same materials that students can buy directly from these national organizations. It may be useful that you do this if there is a significant lead time before the preparation course actually begins, giving you a head start on reading and studying.
We cannot sell these materials to anyone outside of our classes. However, if you have decided to purchase materials from the national organization, we will provide some credit toward your tuition in our class.
Class Confirmation
After you have registered for a course, and after we have verified that there are sufficient enrollments for the class to run, you will be sent specific class information by our Program Coordinators that will include some or all of the following: meeting dates and times, meeting location, driving directions, parking information, a course syllabus, course materials, access instructions for online courses or web portions of classroom courses.
Grade Information
Many of the students in our courses require that courses be graded in order to fulfill company requirements for reimbursement of training expenses. Therefore, we grade all courses by default. If you don’t require a grade, or can accept a Pass/No Pass grading option, please let the Program Coordinator know upon registration. Grades earned through Extended Education BLT Programs do not calculate in to a Grade Point Average in any other part of BU.
For the foreseeable future, an official Grade Report will be sent to you shortly after your instructor provides grades to us. At some point, you will be able to look up your grades through our WebAdvisor system.
Tuition and Refund Information
Tuition is due in full before the first class meeting. The University reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollments, instructor illness, severe weather or natural disaster. In the event of cancellation, registrants are notified immediately and all fees are returned. Student generated cancellations must be initiated before the second class meeting of the course and must be received in writing. (A fax or e-mail is acceptable.) Used books cannot be refunded in full. A $20 processing fee is also be withheld from the refunded amount.
Information Specific to Military Students
Most of the courses within the Business, Legal & Technology program offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and not degree credit. A couple offer professional development semester credit, but are not associated with any degree program. If you are seeking funding for a course from the military, please check with the sponsoring organization regarding conditions and requirements.
Registrations with special forms and approvals will continue to be processed manually. Please find the downloadable Enrollment Forms for the program of interest and contact the appropriate Program Coordinators for assistance.
