What is managed care? Simply stated, managed care is a system of healthcare that controls cost of services, manages the use of services, and measures the performance of health care providers. This course examines the basics of managed care, its definition and history, the types of organizations that comprise it, its drivers and designs, how finances are managed, and its place in today’s and tomorrow’s healthcare landscape.
