Brandman University offers two online courses for teachers wishing to complete their Professional Clear Credential requirements. The courses are designed for individuals already possessing Single Subject California Teaching Credentials, but are open to any teachers wishing to increase their knowledge and skills in these areas.
COURSES:
- EDKU 9045 Teaching with Technology, Level II
- This course builds on the skills acquired in a Technology Level I course. The purpose of the course is not only to expose students to the wide variety of technological tools that can be used in teaching, but also to bring each student to the point at which he or she is able to use these tools with proficiency. Assignments will be project-based. Students will develop curriculum plans, design instructional units, and create technology-rich environments that promote active learning. 3 Credits
- EDRU 9145 Health Education for Teachers
- This course identifies and explores modern concepts of health and health education in schools. Participants will examine current health issues and common health problems in children and adolescents. Topics such as child abuse, suicide, good nutritional health habits, and the effects of chemical use will be covered. Methods that teachers can use to integrate health topics into a variety of curricular areas will be discussed along with resources available online and within a community to help meet the health needs of students and their families. 3 Credits
