The Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program Director is Kathleen McCoy DNSc PMHNP-BC PMHNP-BC FNP-BC, FAANP. She hails from Long Island, NY and is an alumni of The State University of New York at Stony Brook's dual PMHNP/CNS Program (93). She went on to attain a Post-Masters FNP and FPMHNP as well as her Doctorate in Nursing Science (parent degree of the DNP) from The University Of Tennessee Health Science Center Memphis TN (2006). Kathleen relocated from NY to TN immediately after her MS and raised her two youngest children in Middle TN. With exception of a brief position In S Central Nebraska, Kathleen has resided in Middle TN, in the beautiful Upper Cumberland Plateau; an outdoor paradise for the last two decades of her APRN life. With all of her children finally finished with their undergraduate degrees, she anticipates enjoying life with her husband Tom. Currently, she practices in a local regional medical center in the Employee Health Services where she sees walk ins, scheduled appointments, all H & P's, post positive drug screen employees as she coordinates and operates the Nicotine Free-Lifestyle program. Employees reside as far north as Southern KY and as far south as North GA. Her passion is integrated care, reflective practice and the power of genuine care. She humbly hopes to impart these attributes to contemporary PMHNPs as they are prepared to help the patients, their families and communities in which they reside.
