Dr. Winston is the Director of the Online Math Community (OMC). She is responsible for the creation, development, and direction of technology and teaching for quantitative subjects throughout the Brandman system. As an award winning professor (2003 Full Time Faculty Member of the Year), author (McFarland Literary Achievement Award), and leader (Leadership Tomorrow’s Excellence in Leadership Award), she stays on the cutting edge of technology, research, and strategic leadership.
She served on the Board of Directors of the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges, Leadership Tomorrow, and the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce, where she was the President of the Business Development Division. She was the Regional Coordinator for the Mathematics Association of America, Chairman of the Education Committee for the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce, and Academic Senate President at Cerro Coso College. For FACCC, she was the Vice President of the Political Action Committee.
Starting college at thirteen, she pursued degrees in engineering, mathematics, chemistry, biology, psychology, public administration, counseling psychology, and higher education. She is currently a Drucker Scholar at Claremont Graduate University. Upon completion of her MBA in 2013, she will pursue her next doctorate focused on the Economics of Human Capital. She attended Harvard, UT Austin, Syracuse, UCLA, UCI, Pepperdine, and CSUF.
Dr. Winston has been a math professor for 30 years. She served as a Statistical Analyst for OSHA (U.S. Department of Labor), Press Assistant to a Congressman on Capitol Hill, writer/event organizer for President of the United States, and a Quality Control Chemist.
