Founding Dean of Brandman University's new School of Nursing and Health Professions, Dr. Renee McLeod, is a nationally recognized expert in the area of handheld point of action technology to advance interdisciplinary education of health care professionals and to support evidence-based practice.

Prior to joining Brandman, Dr. McLeod served as the Director of the Office of Transformational Technologies and Organizations and Director of Graduate Education and Advanced Practice Programs in the College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation at Arizona State University. She also redeveloped the curriculum and ran the PNP program at Vanderbilt University for 3 years.

Dr. McLeod has been a pediatric nurse practitioner for over 30 years, and maintains an active practice in San Diego where her patients tell her what is really important in the field of health care. Her current research and consulting focuses on transforming health care clinicians, educators, and researchers into digital citizens, or as she puts it, "Education 2.0 for Nursing 2.0 using Web 2.0 and your phone".

In 2011, Dr. McLeod was honored as one of OC Metro Magazine's "20 Women to Watch."
