
AMVETS Legal Clinic services are now available at Brandman. The program offers free legal assistance to veterans, service members and their families. This free legal service includes a variety of support programs. The clinic staff is available to familiarize veterans and military members with their rights under federal law.
The Clinic focus includes:
- Traumatic Service Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) appeals
- Discharge upgrade applications
- Veterans benefits appeals
- Basic civil legal claims such as a landlord tenant dispute
The AMVETS Legal Clinic has recovered millions of dollars in benefits, judgments and settlements for its clients. The Legal clinic also takes on some individual cases, pro bono.
The Clinic is a cooperative effort with AMVETS Department of California, a non-profit organization that is committed to veterans and community service. The Clinic's founder and executive director is Professor Kyndra Rotunda, Executive Director of the Institute for Military Personnel, Veterans, Human Rights and International Law at Chapman University
