Adjunct professor selected to State Network of Educators
Leisa Machado, an instructor for the online secondary history/social sciences methods course at Brandman University and a middle school English language arts and history teacher from the Turlock Unified School District, is now a California member of the State Network of Educators.
A monthly “Meet an SNE Member – California” article features her work at Dutcher Middle School and her work educating other educators through Brandman’s School of Education. The State Network of Educators (SNE) is a team of educators from Smarter Balanced member states trained to review learning resources for the Smarter Balanced Digital Library. In a 10-minute video, the first one featured by the California Department of Education, Machado demonstrates the assessment process while her students annotate a newspaper article and then work in groups to create posters based on their discussions.
Machado and her work with the Smarter Balanced Digital Library were also featured in the Modesto Bee.
