Advisory board for MFT and clinical counseling programs forms at Fairfield campus
The Fairfield campus held its first advisory board meeting for the Master of Arts in marriage and family counseling (MFT) and M.A. in professional clinical counseling (PCC) programs on Dec. 8. Directors from agencies that Brandman University has agreements with were in attendance. All but one of these agencies has Brandman University practicum students at their facility.
The group, led by the Dr. Diane Roman, a senior lecturer in psychology, and Fairfield campus Director Linda Montenegro, worked on a mission statement for the board. “They also discussed issues that the group sees within the field and how together we can solve these issues, especially when providing practicum students to the community,” said Montenegro.
The group agreed to meet 2-3 times a year. “The directors were very excited to be a part of the board, feeling like Brandman University really cares about their opinions”, said Montenegro.
