Extended Education's Bob Tran highlights corporate training at UPCEA conference
Bob Tran, the marketing manager for the School of Extended Education, shared his insights on the value of developing a custom training division as part of a university’s offerings at the West Region Conference of the Association for Professional, Continuing and Online Education (UPCEA). The presentation drew on a multi-part study of the needs of employers and how they decide which institutions they will work with and deploy scarce resources.
“His presentation was extremely well received and provided valuable information on corporate training and the research findings of how organizations make determinations about the need for corporate training, identification of providers and the training attributes most valued by these organizations,” said Nancy Salzman, dean of the School of Extended Education.
Tran said he emphasized how a corporate training program can benefit the rest of the university. “Benefits include creating a pathway to degree programs, revenue generation, robust advisor boards and valuable insights into the skills and knowledge employers want from college graduates,” said Tran.
