Business school partners with Long Beach college district for professional training
Brandman School of Business and Professional Studies faculty members provided business-related training to more than 200 classified employees of the Long Beach Community College District recently, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Christine Zeppos, dean of the School of Education, and Dr. Glenn Worthington, dean of the School of Business and Professional Studies. They learned about the need during a summer conference hosted by the School of Education.
The business faculty talked about goal setting, effective communication, self-empowerment and the practice of excellent customer service.
The all-day event was the first ever provided to classified employees of the college district. “The event was very well received by classified staff,” said Dr. Mona Hasson, director of Human Resources for Classified Staff at the district.
“We’re hoping that this is just the beginning of more opportunities to partner with community colleges throughout Southern California,” said Associate Dean Sharon (Cheri) Floyd of the Brandman business school.
Joining Worthington at the event were faculty members Helen Eckmann, Laura Galloway and David Gonzalez.
