Military Times names Brandman as a Best College for 2018
Military Times announced its Military Times Best: Colleges 2018 moving Brandman up four places in the online/nontraditional list to 14th in the nation. The university is the highest ranked private institution in California in that category and the second highest overall.
About 25 percent of Brandman’s students have military connections with 10 percent in active service, nearly 12 percent as veterans and another 3 percent as dependents.
“Our heritage and future are military and veteran students. We are honored to be among those listed as the best for active military, veteran and military-dependent students, which recognizes our efforts to help transform our students’ lives through education. We are proud they turn to Brandman to reach their goals,” said Chancellor Gary Brahm.
The award, formerly known as Best for Vets, evaluates multiple factors in making the decision. The full list for 2018 can be found here. In the 2017 rankings, Brandman placed 18th and 22nd the year before.
Of the hundreds of schools that applied, fewer than half received the designation this year, said George Altman, the Military Times editor in charge of the rankings. “For the past eight years, we’ve seen colleges and universities consistently increasing their resources, revising their policies and improving their academic outcomes for military and veteran students.”
