Modesto adjuncts expand knowledge base for technology
Leisa Machado, an adjunct professor of education at the Modesto campus, was selected in July to be a member of the State Network of Educators (SNE). At a workshop in Las Vegas, Machado and others from SNE reviewed and created resources for the Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium (SBAC) Digital Library.
Machado said the library is an amazing compilation of Common Core State Standard aligned curriculum and lessons that incorporate technology and emphasize the formative assessment process. Easy-to-use filters help teachers easily find what they are looking for including professional development resources for professional learning communities (PLC).
Dave Menshew, an adjunct professor and Ed.D. student at Brandman’s Modesto campus, led his students from James C. Enochs High School’s biotech science program on multiple public science outreach sessions this summer. He estimates they reached at least 2,000 people (parents and children) at four sessions during the California State Fair at Cal Expo in Sacramento.
