New Placerville Police commander earned MBA at Brandman
The Placerville Police Department welcomed Joseph Wren, a 2015 MBA grad from the Modesto campus of Brandman University, with a ceremonial swearing-in last week, along with three new police officers.
In a story in the Mountain Democrat, Placerville Police Chief Scott Heller was quoted as saying, “Commander Wren’s knowledge and experience will be an asset to the Placerville Police Department as well as the community.” Wren was hired following an extensive statewide search, said Heller.
Wren formerly worked with the Ceres Police Department and started his career in 1996 as a field training officer for the Sutter Creek Police Department in Amador County.
He has experience with SWAT, traffic K9, code enforcement, investigations, and rescue and recover teams. At his most recent post with the Ceres Police Department, Wren held the rank of sergeant and worked with neighborhood groups, homeless outreach and served on the Investigation Committee.
Wren received his bachelor’s degree from Chapman University and is a military veteran, serving with the Marines and the Army National Guard.
“Let’s roll up our sleeves and get some work done,” Wren is quoted a saying in the Mountain Democrat.
