New podcasts feature Brandman students, alumni
The first in a series of podcasts highlighting Brandman University thought leaders is now available. The Brandman Speaks! Podcasts for Thought Leaders series draws on the expertise of faculty, students and alumni from Brandman University School of Arts and Sciences to explore subjects relevant to today.
Brandman Speaks! Podcasts for Thought Leaders are hosted by Dr. Sheila Lakshmi Steinberg, professor of social sciences and co-directed by Dr. Mike Moodian, associate professor of social science. The first podcast features sociology student and military veteran Jeremy McKinnon talking about his experiences after returning from duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, the skills he has learned at Brandman and how he’s working to help fellow veterans.
The second Brandman Speaks! Podcast will be available May 18. Alumnus and retired police lieutenant Diane Goldstein will talk about LEAP, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (of marijuana). Episode three, the week of June 1, features Frawn Morgan on gender inequality in the workplace and the importance of women leaders. Expect a new podcast every other week.
The podcasts are recorded and prepared in the Communications Department studio on the Irvine campus under the direction of production manager Gustav Deutsch. Ideas for other podcasts should be submitted to Joe Cockrell, vice chancellor for communications.
