Pao, Rosensitto discuss online math tutoring at Lilly Conference
Dr. Tammy Pao and Dr. Michelle Rosensitto shared their experiences launching Brandman University Online Math Community (OMC) at the 2016 Lilly Conference on Evidence Based Teaching and Learning held in Newport Beach, California, Feb. 18-21.
The presentation, “The Online Math Community: Providing Tutoring to Support Success in Math,” included showing how Adobe Connect can be used to create an online faculty office and examples of live, interactive online math workshops.
Pao is faculty member for the MyPath, competency-based education, program and Rosensitto serves as director of Brandman’s Online Writing and Math Community and is an assistant professor of organizational leadership and English composition.
The OMC is a free math help service for Brandman students, offering both individual tutoring and live workshops, all completely online.Others faculty members presenting papers at the conference included Helen Eckmann and Laura Galloway from the School of Business and Professional Studies; Leigh Ann Wilson, Lata Murti and Kathleen Ringenbach from the School of Arts and Sciences; and instructional designer Sasha Crowley from the Center for Instructional Innovation.
