What's on your desk? Don McClenathan
Donald “Don” McClenathan is a relative newcomer to Brandman University and the state of California. Despite just a four-month tenure, the service desk technician knew his workstation was destined for greatness. McClenathan’s desk, located in the IT Support Service Department suite on the second-floor of Irvine’s Central Office, is just slightly easier to find than a Death Star in a galaxy far, far away. Those that can locate it will see his budding Star Wars collection.
“There are plenty of Star Wars heavy-hitter desks at Brandman. As a tech, I’ve seen many of them. My desk is a nod to theirs,” McClenathan said, referring to his Darth Vader mouse pad, BB-8 model and Luke Skywalker ornament. “I like BB-8’s canine-like personality. He’s loyal, protective and instinctive.” McClenathan continued. He also enjoys the iconic struggle of good versus evil.
McClenathan explained his desk décor also gives him the opportunity to put roots down in Orange County. The former Floridian says he grew up in Baltimore. A wall of McClenathan’s cubical displays pictures of his travels with his girlfriend and a snapshot of his dog, Lucky. He says “I’m enjoying making my desk at Brandman my new home away from home.”
