2017 Year in Review: Marybelle and S. Paul Musco School of Nursing and Health Professions
The School of Nursing received 10-year accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education with all standards met and no compliance concerns.
More than 88 percent of recent graduates passed their national certification exams.
Gail Hock, who is both a faculty member and a student in the DNP program, was named DNP Student of the Year by the American Association of Community Health Nurse Educators.
Four of the seven full-time faculty were peer reviewers for professional journals and conferences. Dean Tyke Hanisch became editor of a nursing peer-reviewed journal. Full-time and adjunct faculty also served as officers for national organizations, including the American Nurses Credential Center, Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and American Association of Community Health Nurse Educations.
Faculty members also wrote for peer reviewed journals and both full-time and adjunct faculty wrote book chapters and participated in national, state and local conferences. They also contributed to the writing of national certification exams.
