Brandman University’s School of Education is now part of the intensive technical assistance partnership that California has formed with the University of Florida’s Center of Collaboration for Effective Educator Development, Accountability and Reform (CEEDAR).
The CEEDAR Center’s mission is to improve educator preparation systems to advance the achievement of students with disabilities. “We are honored to be involved in this process,” said Christine Zeppos, dean of the School of Education at Brandman University. “There is an urgent need to assist this underserved demographic, and we hope to improve learning outcomes for these students through this process.”
Three faculty members from Brandman University will serve on the California state leadership team; Christine Zeppos, dean of the School of Education, Lynn Larson, associate dean of the School of Education, and Kathy Theuer, associate dean of the School of Education.
Brandman University is one of seven California based institutions selected to participate in this partnership and one of only two private institutions.
The goal of the partnership is to ensure that teachers and leaders are educated to implement evidence based-practices for educating all students, and especially K-12 students with disabilities, to achieve college and career ready standards.
