IRVINE, Calif. (June 5, 2014) — In honor of Brandman University graduate Bryan Fazio, the University will award three $1,000.00 scholarships for the Fall One 2014 term (Sept. 2-Oct. 26) to three student military veterans who have a medical condition or disability.
The Bryan Fazio Scholarship has been established to honor the perseverance and triumph of one of Brandman’s most inspirational graduates. Fazio was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Hodgkin’s lymphoma while serving in the Navy. He was told by doctors that he had just nine months to live. Upon hearing the news, Fazio doubled up on his graduate level courses and received his MBA in August 2013. This fall, Fazio will begin pursuing a doctorate degree at Brandman University.
“We were so moved by Bryan’s accomplishments and his service to his country that Brandman decided to set up a scholarship to assist military veterans who have health concerns,” said Gary Brahm, chancellor of Brandman University.
To apply for one of the three scholarships, current Brandman student veterans with a medical condition or disability should submit a 500-1000 word essay on where they see themselves in five years and how their Brandman education will help them achieve their goals. Essays should include name, campus, email address and phone number and should be submitted to email@example.com.
The deadline for submissions will be 11:59 p.m. on July 15, 2014.
