The Coffee Stop, a mobile coffee van, offers caffeine to the weary traveler on U.S. Highway 101 in Neilton, about three miles from Lake Quinault.
The van is a new venture by Nellie Miller, a part-time instructor for Grays Harbor College at Stafford Creek Corrections Center. The van’s operation has been incorporated into subject matter for her MBA studies at Brandman University.
The menu includes espresso drinks, smoothies and snacks. The roaster is Batdorf & Bronson of Olympia. The van offers wi-fi as well.
“Owning my own business gives me flexibility,” Miller who wants to branch out into traveling to events in the van in 2014 said. “I’ve been called the ‘espresso angel’ or the coffee oasis by those needing sustenance” along the highway, she said.
