As the Director of the Master of Health Administration, Dr. Connell foresees tremendous growth for the program. She cannot wait to facilitate a strong group of alumni with connections to key stakeholders in the health care community. She looks forward to delivering an innovative educational approach to a dynamic group of individuals.
Dr. Connell earned her doctorate following 20 years of business development experience in for-profit health services including behavioral health, wound care and medical practice management. She was a key team member in the growth of a start-up biopharmaceutical company that successfully built a national contract management business with hospital clients.
After returning to school, Dr. Connell applied her skills to the nonprofit sector, providing development and management services for a variety of safety net providers and health care agencies in Southern California.
Additionally, she has been an adjunct professor at Chapman University College – now Brandman University, Occidental College and California State University, Long Beach. She has also co-authored numerous articles on health literacy, long-term care and other public health topics.
