Prior to joining Brandman, Dr. Mays held research and teaching positions with Arizona State University, College of Nursing and Health Innovation; University of Arizona Medical School; University of Maryland, European Division and University of Oklahoma.
A highly regarded research scientist, Dr. Mays has served on national scientific review boards including the Behavioral Medicine Interventions and Outcomes study section of the National Institutes of Health and the Committee on Body Composition, Health and Nutrition of Military Women of the National Academies’ Institute of Medicine. She is a retired US Army research psychologist who served with the Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, the Army Medical Department Center and School and the 101st Airborne Division - Air Assault.
Dr. May’s published work includes over 50 research articles, technical reports and book chapters. She has broad experience in the basic sciences and applied clinical research with special interest in mobile technology innovation in the health sciences, inter-professional education of health professionals, behavioral measurement, health promotion interventions and animal cognition.
