This online program authorizes you to provide specialized instruction to English learners in a California classroom. You'll learn to design curriculum to assist students with developing their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.
Courses address the belief that teaching English learners requires an understanding of first and second language acquisition theories; how culture impacts learning; appropriate bilingual methodology; and the need to use appropriate content area instruction through Specially-Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE).
Service Credential, Professional Clear Administrative Services
This program is designed to develop the professional competencies of practicing educational leaders. Individuals that hold an Administrative Services Credential, Tier II, have the skills needed to coordinate and supervise student support services, instruct disciplinary actions for students, manage a school entity’s fiscal services, assess instructional programs and manage certificated personnel.
Adding an additional single subject authorization broadens a teacher's qualifications and provides greater opportunity for career advancement. The Single Subject Authorization makes it possible to achieve this without completing another teacher credentialing program. Comprised of just one additional class, this authorization is designed for students that already hold a Multiple Subject Credential that want to teach in both single and multiple subject environments at a junior high or high school level.

This program provides eligible candidates with a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) designated authorization to serve the specific needs of learners with autism. The Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization allows the holder to conduct assessments, provide instruction and special education related services to individuals with a primary disability of autism. The authorization is approved by California's Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
