This program provides eligible candidates with a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) designated authorization to serve the specific needs of learners with autism. The Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization allows the holder to conduct assessments, provide instruction and special education related services to individuals with a primary disability of autism.
The courses taken in the program may also be valuable for teachers without credentials to enhance the learning experience for special education students. These types of students are welcome to take individual classes or successfully complete the entire program to receive a certificate of completion for professional development opportunities. The authorization is approved by California's Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
