The CCNA Wireless class teaches students the knowledge and skills required to successfully design, install, configure, monitor and conduct basic troubleshooting tasks of Cisco WLAN in SMB and Enterprise installations. This course is 20 hours and equivalent to 2.0 CEUs.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe basics of Spread Spectrum Technology & the impact of various wireless technology;
  • Discuss Wireless regulatory bodies, standards, certifications, and RF principles;
  • Describe wireless topologies, 802.11 authentication, encryption methods, and frame types;
  • Explain the basics of Cisco Unified Wireless Network Architecture and Cisco Mobility Express Wireless Architecture;
  • Describe the modes of Controller-based AP deployment, discovery, association and roaming;
  • Configure a WLAN controller, stand-alone access points and RRM;
  • Describe and configure wireless security on Cisco clients and APs;
  • Describe basic wireless management;
  • Configure and verify basic WCS configuration, Controllers and APs;
  • Describe client OS WLAN configuration, basic CSSC and CCX versions 1-5, and install ADU;
  • Describe and configure authentication methods, different sources of authentication, and encryption methods;
  • Describe the general framework of wireless security and security components;
  • Identify basic WLAN troubleshooting methods for controllers, access points, and client methodologies;
  • Install/upgrade WCS and configure basic administration parameters;
  • Use the WCS Monitor Tab and Alarm Summary to verify the WLAN operations;
  • Operate basic WCS and Navigator, and configure and use Maps in the WCS;
  • Describe the use of WLC Show, Debug and Logging, and WCS Client Troubleshooting Tools;
  • Transfer WLC configuration and O/S using maintenance tools and commands;
  • Describe and differentiate WLC WLAN management access methods;
  • Describe basic RF deployment considerations related to site survey design of data
