This course continues training from CSCU 0097: Premises Cabling – Installation, and proceeds to troubleshooting and related topics. Students will learn cable construction, installation, and troubleshooting of various copper cable types including Cat 5, Cat 6, and Cat 6e, fiber optics and wireless. This course will help prepare the student to pass the ETA Data Cabling Installer Certification (DCIC) or the FOA Certified Premises Cabling Technician. Prerequisite: CSCU 0097: Premises Cabling - Installation.

This course was designed for contractors, union craftsman, electricians, technicians, installers, LAN managers/administrators, end-users, engineers, MIS managers, facilities managers, architects and developers, systems engineers, telecom managers and anyone involved in repairing, installing, maintaining, designing, evaluating, or provisioning premises cabling. This course is 16 hours and equivalent to 1.6 CEUs.
