Organizational Development Best Practices Certificate

Under New Construction For Fall 2013

The Organization Development (OD) Best Practices Certificate is designed for both internal and external professionals who are tasked with major change initiatives, organization restructuring, and system-wide talent management.
 
This 11-week, 45-hour program, provides participants with current methodology, best thinking and practical tools in Organization Development including:

  • Organizations as Systems
  • Organization Design Models
  • Leading Change and Managing Transition
  • Optimizing Human Capital
  • Coaching for Impact
  • Successful Consulting 
  • Developing Influence and Building Trust

The learning environment is interactive and includes case studies, individual exercises, group activities, and practice sessions. On-the-job application is achieved via the creation and implementation of an Individual Development Plan (IDP) that culminates with a Capstone report on the results.

    Topics include: • Recognizing organizations as interconnected systems • Understanding how the discipline of OD is applied to that system • Restructuring organizations

    Topics include: • Understanding the levers of change • Successfully responding to and leading change • Addressing resistance to change • Managing through transition
  • Talent Management
    Topics include: • Workforce planning • Giving effective feedback and measuring performance • Implementing system-wide employee development plans
  • Workplace Coaching
    Topics include: • Understanding the business case for coaching • The role of coach • Learning and practicing business coaching skills • Brain-based coaching • Identifying the key benefits of coaching
  • Consulting Skills
    Topics include: • Learning the practice and process of consulting • Examining the roles of internal vs. external consultants • Managing large scale OD projects
  • Influence and Trust
    Topics include: • Understanding the difference between influence and power • Recognizing influence at different levels of the organization • Applying different styles of influence to accomplish tasks • Identifying the dimensions of trust
  • Capstone
    Summarize OD best practices and their applicability in various situations; presentations of Individual Development Plan results.

  • $1,575 per participant (including materials)
