TECU 0096: Cisco Wireless I

In this course, you will learn about Cisco Wireless Network Technology and how to design, configure, and conduct basic troubleshooting tasks needed to support Cisco WLAN in SMB and Enterprise installations. Using instructor-led discussion, lecture, and hands-on lab exercises, this course allows you to be proficient in configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting wireless networks in Enterprise setting. This course is 40 hours and equivalent to 4.0 CEUs.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify & configure various WLAN Authentication Mechanisms on the Cisco Wireless Controllers
  • Configure client connectivity in different Operating Systems: Android, MacOS, iOS, and Windows
  • Describe roaming and wireless guest networking
  • Configure WLAN security and AP settings at the infrastructure side
  • Validate wireless client configuration settings
  • Identify & employ appropriate third-party wireless controller tools to assist in troubleshooting
  • Describe site survey methodologies for onsite/offsite, passive/active, and their purposes
  • Identify proper application of site survey tools utilizing spectrum analyzers and site surveying software
  • Describe the requirements of client real-time and non-real-time applications
