DEIC Committee

Mission

Brandman University’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee fosters a culture of inclusion where the University respects all people and embraces our differences as we engage in exploring and understanding diverse opinions and beliefs. To promote an enriched and sustainable environment, the Committee supports the hiring and matriculation of exceptionally talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, as we value inclusion as a core strength and essential element to the Brandman legacy.

DEI Structure

The Executive Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Student Affairs, Saskia Knight, is the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, which consists of faculty, staff, and student volunteers. Our purpose is to create a pathway to move DEI initiative forward, identify action items, make decisions, and ensure accountability. In addition, the DEIC will collaborate with the Compliance and Faculty Executive Council (FEC) and Shared Governance Functions in order to ensure the initiative is aligning with legal mandates, academic freedom, and quality instruction.
