Welcome to the School of Arts & Sciences at Brandman University!

Jeremy Korr Ph.D.

No matter where your career or educational interests lie, the School of Arts & Sciences provides the foundation for every student and the skills employers are seeking in their employees.

Instead of a generic approach to general education, we promote a competency based approach that allows students to demonstrate critical thinking or writing, or the development of an ethical framework by which to make decisions, through a variety of courses across the curriculum in subjects of interest and relevancy to the lived world. From music to food, from the sociology of the family to constitutional rights, there is a course that will stimulate your intellectual curiosity.

Many associate Arts and Sciences with biology, freshman composition and history 101, but that is only a small piece of what we offer. Brandman's School of Arts & Sciences covers an array of subjects and disciplines including liberal studies, criminal justice, sociology, and psychology. We even offer a Bachelor's in Applied Studies that allows you to design your own curriculum based on your work experience, your interests and future goals.

As you consider your education options, keep in mind these words from Albert Einstein:

It is not so very important for a person to learn facts. For that he does not really need a college. He can learn them from books. The value of an education in a liberal arts college is not learning of many facts but the training of the mind to think something that cannot be learned from textbooks.

Let us help open your mind to new possibilities.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeremy Korr
Dean, School of Arts & Sciences
Brandman University
