The Office of Equity and Inclusion is committed to offering pathways for ensuring that the members of our university community have an opportunity to share their thoughts and to be heard.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) is to offer pathways for ensuring that the members of our university community are valued and supported within a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.

Vision

Foster an environment where addressing issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice and cultural humility, is cultivated. 

The OEI is building a repository of resources in the following areas:

Part of the mission of the Office of Equity and Inclusion is to offer pathways for ensuring that the members of our university community have an opportunity to share their thoughts and to be heard.

Each OEI Advisory Initiative (OEI-AI) listed below, will serve as part of our university commitment to addressing issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice, that result in positive outcomes for students, faculty and staff. You are invited to join this inaugural system-wide process by volunteering for one or more of the OEI advisory groups and networks, by signing up for one of the groups listed below:

Full time employee & Full time Faculty based OEI Advisory Initiatives

Note – while there is a member limit for each group, we encourage you to explore more than one OEI-AI. If the group maximum has been met, you will be notified and extended an opportunity to volunteer as part of an alternate OEI-AI.

 

Campus-Community Advisory Groups

The objective of the Campus-Community Advisory Groups is to serve as a liaison to the Office of Equity and Inclusion.

The focus of the OEI Campus-Community Advisory groups will be centered around matters of DEISJ at the campus community level and across departments/units within the campus community (respectively).  Campus-Community Advisory Group members must meet the university's staff or full-time faculty employment classification criteria.

 

Faculty Advisory Groups

The objective of the Faculty Advisory Groups, while serving as a liaison to the Office of Equity and Inclusion, is to serve as a resource curating body. These groups will develop resources which may be utilized by university curriculum teams in their ongoing efforts towards addressing matters of DEISJ.

There will be an ongoing focus on curating resources applicable to credit hour, certificate and competency based curriculum (relating to matters of DEISJ); and on equity among our faculty body (respectively). Curated resources, will be made accessible via the OEI. Faculty Advisory group members must meet the university's staff or full-time faculty employment classification criteria.

 

Service Advisory Groups

The objective of the Service Advisory Groups, as a volunteer advisory group to the OEI, ranges in scope. Groups will focus on representation, resources and recommendations, towards the benefit of our university community. Service Advisory Group members must meet the university's staff or full-time faculty employment classification criteria.

 

Advocacy & Success Networks

The objective of the Advocacy & Success Networks, while serving as liaisons to the Office of Equity and Inclusion, is to focus on support and resources available/accessible to members of our university community. Advocacy & Success Networks members must meet the university's staff or full-time faculty employment classification criteria.

 

University Climate Consortium

Appointment to the University Climate Consortium will be based upon subject matter expertise and experience. If you are interested in submitting a statement of interest focused on your work within any of these areas, please click an initiative listed below, for more details and next steps.
