Biography

 

Brad Damon is Associate Dean of Accreditation and Assessment, and Associate Professor in the School of Education at Brandman University. In his current role, Brad works to ensure all programs leading towards licensure to work in a California public K-12 school meet the most current standards and regulations set forth by the state. He is a Board Institutional Reviewer and Site Team Lead for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and has served on numerous accreditation teams.

Prior to joining Brandman, Brad spent 23 years at National University where his focus on excellence and team building enabled him to rise to key leadership roles across four areas: Academics, University Operations, Admissions, and Enrollment Management. Brad is certified in: Law and Higher Education Policy from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and Strategic Workforce Planning from the Human Capital Institute (HCI).

Brad holds a BA in Behavioral Science; MBA; MA Counseling Psychology; and is currently pursuing his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at City University of Seattle.

Review programs for CTC accreditation/approval, Lead accreditation site team visits.

National University

Director of Credentials - 2008-2020

Directing a staff of 40 including 8 direct reports spanning 26 campuses in the enforcement of state and university program standards; development and implementation of strategic objectives. Assessing industry, university, and customer needs in order to develop & implement vision and direction for Credential Department staff. Assisting in the adjudication of student issues in credentialing and field student teaching placement. Working in collaboration with the Vice President of Student Affairs and School of Education Dean and Department Chairs in problem solving complex issues. Creating and managing systems to assess the quality and efficiency of credential student services. Developing, executing and overseeing Credential Department administrative processes, student orientations, technical interfaces/systems, and program advisement. Managing the department’s annual operating budget.
