 Petersen_Hock_Gail

 

Gail Petersen Hock is a board certified public/community health clinical nurse specialist and advanced public health nurse. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Community Health Nursing from Arizona State University. Gail studied epidemiology and public health ethics at Harvard School of Public Health and completed the online Applied Health Informatics Program at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.  She has practiced as a hospital nurse, school nurse, directed outreach clinics for the uninsured and served as faculty in RN-BSN programs.  Her specialty area is immunization and reducing the risk of vaccine preventable disease in vulnerable populations. She is actively involved with the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life program aimed at protecting children worldwide by providing vaccines where they are needed most.  Gail is dedicated to helping prepare tomorrow’s nurses with an understanding of health promotion and illness prevention at the population level and the skill set to facilitate policy decisions that result in health for all people.
