Patrick Ainsworth was named professor at Brandman University in August 2018. For the previous 5 years he served as adjunct professor and dissertation chair with the Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership. Since 2013, he has worked as an education consultant, with school districts, businesses, professional associations, higher education, and researchers. His consultancy work focuses on education policy, leadership development, career and college readiness, developing organizational capacity, and facilitating business - education partnerships.
Prior to his current work, Dr. Ainsworth served for 16 years as the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education within the California Department of Education. Patrick provided statewide leadership to secondary education, including high school and middle school, college preparation, adult education, postsecondary relations, career technical education, counseling and guidance, alternative education, and workforce preparation. His responsibilities included high school reform, smaller learning communities, college and career readiness, Linked Learning, Partnership Academies, ROCP, business and labor partnerships, and various state and federal programs.
Previously, Patrick worked for the Riverside County Office of Education, as the Administrator of a countywide consortium of nineteen school districts. He also e He alsoserved as Principal-Coordinator and Instructional Specialist. Patrick was also a teacher of severely handicapped youth/adults, and served as a high school counselor for 9 years.
Dr. Ainsworth earned his Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Management from University of La Verne (June, 2000). Patrick has worked with numerous state and national agencies and organizations and is a past-president of the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium.
